Lewis knows what it takes to get into the top schools having attended and worked at one. He was in the top 180 himself back in the day after rigorous tutoring, so knows first-hand the positive impact regular tutoring sessions can have. He has worked in schools for 10 years, 8 of those years as a qualified teacher, 5 of those years in Secondary and 3 of them in Primary. He has a passion for instilling knowledge in his students, especially leading to the taking of exams. He has made the switch from teaching to tutoring to have an arguably even bigger difference on the future generations, getting them into excellent Grammar schools.
10 sessions (£19/ hour) = £380
20 sessions (£17.50/ hour) = £700
£300 per week (£15/ hour)
Having taught for 10 years, the skills of teaching and assessing are very well-rehearsed. I understand how to impart knowledge and can detect instantly when students are finding a particular concept difficult. Children enjoy my teaching style with my engaging tone, caring approach, and occasional bad joke (where I will expect fake laughs).
Students work best in groups. They can assist each other and it allows the teacher to address success and difficulties swiftly. 1 to 1 can be too intense and large classes lead to students' misconceptions going undetected. It is the same in the classroom - as a teacher, the support sessions at lunchtime or afterschool were so much more effective.
With the first session FREE and no obligation to continue the pressure is off. Also, £40 per session works out at £20 per hour - you would struggle to find a better rate with a qualified teacher of 8 years with Primary and Secondary School experience. You also have to the option to buy sessions in bulk which would save you money.

I specialise in the tutoring of 11+ content: English, Verbal Reasoning, Maths, Non-Verbal Reasoning.
I have been a qualified teacher for 8 years (3 in Primary and 5 in Secondary) and have tutored for 10 years.
I charge £40 per standalone session which is 2 hours long. However, if you choose to buy the sessions in a package it saves you money.
The groups are kept from 4-8 - enough so they can learn from each other, I can provide assistance to all, but not too many where teaching becomes diluted.
Homework is set after every session. They must finish whatever exercises they did not get onto in the session. Also, to get the students into the minds of the examiner, I get them to create one style of question per topic, and then test their peers the following week as a starter. The homework should take around 30-45 minutes.
We will start by going through last week's homework for 15 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of Maths, 20 minutes of NVR, 10 minute rest break, 20 minutes of English and finish with 20 minutes of VR.
It depends on how well your child is doing - the tutoring may be enough. However, I will detail how they are doing to you and whether I feel it would be beneficial to do more at home.
Yes - mock exams are sat at the end of each half term. Parents will be sent a break down of results.
Yes - only during the Summer Holidays.
No - only face to face. Students generally get enough screen time as it is in their day-to-day activities so to encourage more of that would be going against what I believe in. Also, I believe that my teaching is most effective in person. I taught through the Covid Google Meet years and do not want to go back to that.
Regular updates will be sent via Whatsapp and my Instagram account will be used for tips and general items.
